Keep ICE Breakers running
ICE Breakers is free, anonymous, and open source. There are no ads, no data sales, no venture capital. The only thing keeping this project alive is people like you.
What your tip covers
Every dollar goes directly to keeping the lights on:
- Cloud hosting — servers that process and store sighting reports 24/7
- Database — PostgreSQL with PostGIS for real-time geospatial queries
- Domain & SSL — keeping icebreakers.cloud secure and accessible
- App Store fees — $99/year (Apple) + $25 one-time (Google) to stay in the stores
- Future: SMS reporting — a Twilio phone number so people can text in sightings without a smartphone
Why it matters
Every day, people in communities across the country rely on real-time information to stay safe. ICE Breakers exists because no one should have to wonder if their neighborhood is safe to walk through.
This project has no budget. No grants. No corporate backing. It runs on volunteered time and whatever we can scrape together to cover hosting costs.
If this tool has helped you or someone you know, please consider leaving a tip. Even $5 keeps the servers running for weeks.
Tips are not tax-deductible. All funds go toward keeping ICE Breakers running.
